Today’s puzzle builds critical thinking skills and gives you and your teen a fun, low-pressure way to engage with each other.
Which One Doesn’t Belong?
This game is super simple and is great for out-of-the-box thinking!
Pick the one item that doesn’t belong with the others and convince the other person of your reasoning!
In my critical thinking classes, I always encourage students to think of at least 3 different answers or different reasons for the same answer.
You can do the same thing as you play this game with your teen.
For example, if you pick #3 as the “one that doesn’t belong”…you could give one reason for it, and your teen might give a completely different reason.
That’s the kind of thinking we’re going for in this activity!
(And the conversation that goes along with it is building positive memories, too.😊)

As always with this type of puzzle, there’s more than one right answer and more than one reason for any of the answers…but if you’re really stumped, I’ll give you a couple of more ideas you can discuss…
#4 is the only one with multiple arrows
#2 is the only one that doesn’t have a clear/transparent background
